What is BODYSTEP?
BODYSTEP is the ALL SYSTEMS GO workout. Compelling cardio fitness that shapes and tones the legs,improves co-ordination, bone density, posture and agility, what more could you ask for? Step workouts may have been around since the 80’s, but BODYSTEP is like no other step class. BODYSTEP retains the essence of a great step class and adds fun and athletic movements to the mix with huge amounts of spunk, personality, driving music and great training principles! What is involved in a class? BODYSTEP is broken into individual tracks that have specific training objectives. While the class is continuous cardio, it is also broken into periods of intense work with built in recovery. The great thing about BODYSTEP is that the STEP is used as a training tool. We approach it from different angles and change the height according to the nature of the movements. A certain amount of predictability with routines means that you feel comfortable and competent quickly and are able to concentrate on the workout. Some of the highlights of BODYSTEP include tracks like Party Step, Speed Step and heart-pumping Power Peaks. You can burn up to 600 calories with this fun, challenging workout!

Who is BODYSTEP for?
BODYSTEP is for any BODY who wants an energetic, exciting and results-oriented STEP workout. BODYSTEP is a great cross training option to add variety to your workout. BODYSTEP is great for the experienced or newcomer stepper because you have the ability to control how hard you work.


How often should you do BODYSTEP?
Because BODYSTEP is a cardiovascular training class you can do it once a week along side other workouts, or you can do it most every day. As a beginner to exercise you don’t want to do too much too soon, but as your fitness level and recovery improves you will be able to increase workout volume and intensity.

What else do I need to know?
Give yourself some time to familiarize yourself with the movements and techniques used in BODYSTEP. Even though moves and techniques are simple, it still requires some level of basic co-ordination, simply because you are working with a STEP. As with any new class, you will spend the first 3 to 4 workouts getting familiar, but soon you will be moving around, up and over your STEP like a professional. Be sure to chat with the instructor before class, especially if it is your first time or if you have any injuries. The BODYSTEP Instructor will assist in making any modifications that are necessary. Make sure you bring a towel and a water bottle to class and wear a good, supportive cross training shoe.
